Twenty Years in Adonai

Kiran Peters

Being disillusioned and having dropped out of a CSI church, after church hopping for sometime in 1991, I was praying and asking God to guide me to a church that I would be committed to and where I could grow spiritually. I heard about Adonai Ministries vaguely and that Christmas morning, I woke up and heard a distinct voice telling me to attend service at Adonai. I wasn’t sure of the whereabouts of the church; I called several friends and finally got the address and went. From then on, there was no turning back. Twenty years have passed and I am so thankful that God led me to a church where I’ve grown in leaps and bounds.

Like any relationship, there have been ups and downs, but we’ve weathered all storms and come out stronger in the Lord – from a place of being fiercely independent to being church dependant and finally being God dependant. I am now well on my way to becoming an overcomer! This is true not just of me but of my children, too. Especially after attending the 9 Day School of Inner Healing and Deliverance in 2011, we have found ourselves placed on higher ground and are infused with a stronger desire to live for the glory and splendor of Jesus. If I should share in detail of all the great things that have occurred along this journey, I would have to publish a book, so I’d best sum up my story in this little poem…

Adonai, the Lord’s ministry.
I walked in, my life a misery –
Met this blessed couple – Vic and Ann,
Introduced my kids, Pearl and Dan…
Twenty years, I’ve spiritually grown –
A strong tree from the seed that was sown.
Praise God, I now believe and see
Every day, the truth is setting me free!

Thank you, church, the leadership and ministry teams, for yielding yourselves and being such a blessing to me and thousands of people. Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in harmony. God bless!
